You'll be fine mate, get your arse to the rear of your seat (at least a fist width between your bollox and rear of tank). Slide your ass off but keep your upper body in line with your ass (don't twist your torso) chest low over tank and head where your mirror is) and slowly pick up the pace/lean further👍👍👍 |

Always look ahead, so it's turn point, apex, exit but you should be looking at the next point before you hit the first one, as ever it's looking ahead as Jase says.

I'm no superstar rider, probably not even quick by many peoples standards but the best thing I ever did to improve my riding was to buy the book "A Twist of the Wrist" by Keith Code and the follow up "A Twist of the Wrist II". There are also DVD's of similar names. I found the books better but all together they are a superb resource. Keith goes into the dynamics of a bike to give you a thorough understanding of why you need to do things like counter steer to make it a truly natural thing to do. He talks about the minds reactions to circumstances, fight or flight reflexes and why survival reactions are not always the best to follow. Most solo crashes are caused by the failure to follow the principles Keith outlines in his books and it's rarely about going too fast!
Keith has trained dozens of national and world champions including the great Wayne Rainey so it has to be good - I'm not on commission by the way but it will be worth more too you in lap time than any tuning mod you can buy. |

Its a struggle on the road if your using one side and not both.......... I had a few left knees touch over the years riding like a twat
Roundabouts are a good place to mess about My knees used to be in the way on the track along with my pegs boots and fairings

I always found it took so much effort to scrape both knees od the road It is possible but I could only do it on certain corners. On the track I find my knee is in the way its all to do with different cambers corner speed etc so many factors all surround this |

Yeah a bit dated but still valid just like Einstein all these years later and still used to train enthusiasts and racers on both sides of the Atlantic (TOTW that is, not Einstein although I'm sure he's in there somewhere). That said I'm always ready to soak up information, what would you recommend to look at that is better/up to date? |
