So, my Gen 1 RSV fell over off the side stand (my stupid fault, stopped facing downhill while I opened a gate). Some minor cosmetic gravel rash, but now the gear selector has developed a mind of its own. The bike runs fine and I can (with some care) find a gear & get drive. I’m assuming I’ve broken or dislodged the shifter return spring?
If so, any advice on what I might be looking at to fix?

Hard to say, Could be spring hopefully, or maybe a bent selector shaft if it feels tight to move. If you drop the clutch side casing you should be able to see any broken spring etc. If it looks intact you will need to remove the shaft and put it on a straight edge to see if it bent.

I can't offer any more than Spoonz on the selector but can suggest the US spec sidestand. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have happened if you had one fitted. PM me if interested. |
