Hey fellas!
I am thinking to get this battery since many of You recommend this particular or the one made by VARTA/YUASA
The problem, which may not be the real problem actually is that i noticed these two particular batteries are a bit different in height and holder/clip/clamp wise than the stock (2008 RSVR) battery.

and the one that is compatible with the stock, unmodified securing clip is this:

I am not concerned about the first battery being shorter in height, that.. i can manage, but the gap on the TTZ (both varta and yuasa) is much narrower than the stock clip/clamp can handle.
Any tips how you solved that problem before I buy the new battery?
I hope You understand my concerns.
Cheers

Sorry no idea, they were recommended so I bought one Embarrassed for the first time since fitting it a couple of years ago I no longer have to worry will it or wont it start, so I've fitted them to all my bikes.

Also they are handy as they have 4 terminals which helps when you do the wiring mods Wink

YUASA TTZ14S is 230CCA
I need the battery asap and the only one that is available to me tomorrow is this one (CCA/Ah wise). :(
I guess i'll need to improvise.. will put some hard rubber between the battery and clamp, some straps..saddle is securing it from the above if i'm not mistaken?

I had a piece of soft foam and the seat to hold my Yuasa battery down as it had the same problem you have.
It doesn't move and is spot on.

what's that mod you've done there? It's not the brown reg rec one as you've got still got that, is it a replacement for the starter solenoid, with new cables?

That's the reg/rec charging mod where you basically double up the wires from the output to the battery which gives you a higher charging rate. The brown connector is done aswell, mine wasn't melted so I just soldered all the terminals to the cables to reduce the resistance.
