Back in the RSV fold now having been away for may years, but I didn't know there's an issue with plastic fuel tanks and ethanol levels in the fuel. So what are the plastic tank owners out there doing to avoid any issues?

Unfortunately the last bastion of ethanol free fuel (Esso Synergy Supreme plus) now has up to 5% ethanol since last September. I am still sticking with Esso, but try to make sure you use premium fuel up to 5% rather than the cheapest containing 10%.

I drain my tanks in the winter, as my Ducati can also suffer. I've Just bought an updated brand new tank for that, that supposedly is better with ethanol than the original fitted -which has grown a bit due to previous owners use of cheaper fuel.
Question everything.

I had no idea it was a problem, its a long time since I've owned one.

Aprilia’s, Ducati and any other polyester tanked bikes suffer it, the only real way around it is to find a metal tank.

Gen 1 Tuono, always used Super 5%.
Now 19 years old, no blistering on the tank and so far not too difficult to refit when removed. I put fuel stab in prior to winter lay up, run it then remove as much fuel as possible.

People say I don't know Jack Sh1t; but I do, he lives next door.
