Hiya one and all,
Does anyone know if an ignition switch from a gen 1 will fit into a top yoke (triple tree?) from a gen 2?
Odd question i know but i have a cunning plan for extra bling for my rsv-r!

Ah, so it won't fit. That's a shame.  I just checked the spindle and fork part numbers, didn't think of anything else.
I was thinking of a nicely blue anodised one would look rather good!
Thanks.

Yes different offset.

I was lucky to get an Edwards replica yokes, but I think I've only seen 2 for sale in over a decade.

You can get the Flyhammer yokes for Ohlins and Showa anodized in blue, red, gold, black or silver over at AF1 -and they are very similar to the Edwards top yoke and have provision for the gen 1 switch

Question everything.

Why not get your yoke anodised blue?

there were 2 aprilia optional top yokes for a gen 1

a grey and a gold nice bits of kit i had the gold one but never fitted it and sold it on

rlyhammer aell just the top yokes in all colours

back to your gen2 yoke

The yokes have a different offset. Also Gen2 top plate will foul the fixing lugs of your gen 1 tank.

They will fit, but it won't be ideal. Seen on AF1 some people do run gen 1 lower with gen 2 upper. Don't think I would though. Personally I'd love an RSV4 front end to get all that extra trail.

Lovely idea, but as with most things now, price prohibitive...I could nearly get a whole rsv for that money by the time I've paid shipping and import duty!

the early yoke is solid but the later ones are more sculpted, just look better. I was hoping it'd be an easy swap as 2nd hand parts seem to be less money now sometimes.

You can try searching for the genuine optional anodised top yoke ?

Rare find however. There are loads of probably Chinese CNC alloy too yokes available. The alloy is usually good but the steel bolts are pump so replace those with titanium or similar and that would be a cheap and unique thing if the fly hammer stuff is too dear.

Just don’t use the riser brackets and you could make some brackets and run the brake and clutch reservoirs inboard endurance style. Some clear fluid Tyson tubing and funky blue fluid and you’re bling central.

Just a thought

I love the look of the flyhammer top yoke, but really was after cheap bling...my bikes get used for commuting.

Now that is what I call a good idea!
Looking at the ribs underneath I could lose the two side triangles easily and keep the bit with the aprilia sticker on, or not depending on what it looks like. How much does anodising cost I wonder!
