It needs to be hosted on the web, either on a site like Photobucket or Dropbox if you use it.

You'll get a link to the image then. You can then click on the "Insert Image" icon when replying to the post and enter the URL.

Lol I was the guy in the bright yellow hoody on the *ahem* "rough around the edges" Mille lol. Like I said, put her back together as a project. Looked like this when I got her:

Clocked your bike as soon as I parked up as I've ogled your MIVV Suonos on here before lol so recognised it straight away (which is why I knew who you were - NOT because I'm a stalker! ).

Was meeting a few friends at Southport but had to get to the Scotch for 7:30, hence made tracks PDQ when I realised we were almost gonna be late. Looked around to say cheerio as I was putting my lid on but couldn't see you.

Hey Jim Smile Sorry for calling you Andy lol! It was nice you instantly knew I was Bird though Big smile

I saw you as you were leaving but you were already riding off, it's easy to spot you in that hoody Thumbs Up

Justin got talking to a guy off the Busa Facebook page that he's on and he asked if were going to the Scotch but I wanted to stay at Southport in case anymore RSV dudes turned up.

Is it good at the Scotch then?? I've never been! Maybe next week.

Yeah I got the hoody because I got sick of car/van drivers failing to see me and pulling out/changing lanes etc. I figure that people are hard-wired to look out for hi-viz on the roads in case it's police, so hi-viz dayglo yellow was the way to go. Don't like the proper hi-viz bike gear though as it makes you look like a plod-wannabe lol so when I found out that my other half can get hold of and print up yellow (and pink/green) hi-viz hoodies I thought it made a perfect compromise. The vinyl lettering is retroreflective too (so it bounces light back at its source without scattering it - like the white strips on hi-viz safety jackets), making it even more obvious to any vehicle with headlights that shines towards me :)

I have a white lid I sometimes wear and when behind someone on the motorway all they see is white helmet + hi-viz and more often than not pull over and immediately slow down to 70 lmao

Scotch is getting busier now the weather's improving. I'd say there was a good hundred bikes there last night and when it gets warmer it's not uncommon to get about 200 there. Just a pity they've stopped the summer BBQ they used to let the scouts puts on :( It was always fun to get a burger or hotdog and play roulette with whether or not it was properly cooked - and if not, whether you'd make it home in time once the stomach gurgles started

Have to say last night was the first night I've enjoyed the ride home this year. I headed back via the M58 and through Wigan and it was finally warm enough last night to enjoy the empty late night roads without worrying about wet/cold tarmac and how much grip there was on the bends :)

Yeah, a high-viz hoody is a good idea! I don't do any commuting on the bike so I don't really feel the need for high-viz but I'm going to Germany for a fortnight in the summer and I think France make you wear high-viz...would probably be too hot in a hoody though. Unhappy

Was it North West Bikers that you had on the hoody? There used to be two NWB sites, think one was .net and one was .co.uk but not sure which are still going!

Mmm, that Scout cooked BBQ sounds awesome! Confused The  guys we were talking to last night said they were going to have their tea there and talked about a BBQ so I hope they weren't disappointed when they got there. One of the guys only had one leg as he lost it in an accident and he was on a ZZR1400 lol, qudos to him!

Yeah last night was the warmest night yet I think, it was so cold on Monday night but I did have different gloves and a fleece on last night so came prepared Smile

It's the .net forum, not the .co.uk

From what people have said who've mistakenly signed up to the .co.uk forum it's a good place to discuss the finer points of train spotting and the handling characteristics of a 1960's Enfield bikes etc. but definitely not the social biker hub that they'd hoped it to be

If I'm being morbidly honest the main reason I went for a bright coloured hoody is that if you're wearing black leathers and come off the bike and find yourself lying on a black road it's too easy to blend in visually, with a car/van/wagon driver only realising you're lying there when they suddenly wonder why they've just driven over a sleeping policeman whilst looking at the mangled wreck of a bike at the side of the road... Same logic applies to people just not seeing you in other instances too though. My other half was showing me the same hi-viz material is available but in t-shirts too, so will probably get a similar oversized t-shirt for summer :)

There was definitely no BBQ going on at the Scotch last night, which is daft if you ask me because people rode out, ended at the Scotch and had a burger/sausage etc. and stayed there until 10pm+ (meaning lots of trade for the pub). The brewery shafted the previous landlady (Paula) just recently and installed a new landlord, who's ditched the BBQ (they used to let the local scout group run the BBQ and keep the proceeds as a donation to keep them running, with the pub making its own money on the drinks). It's daft because people jump on their bikes straight after work without having any tea. They get to the Scotch, have one drink then go on somewhere else for food about 8-8:30pm, meaning the pub loses loads of business from 8pm until close, where previously they were serving non-stop until gone 10pm+. Ah well...

I did see a chap at the carousel with a blue anodised walking stick so am guessing that might be the ZZR1400 chap you mentioned? We used to have a member on NWB who was ex-forces and had lost his left arm and lower leg in Iraq, who rode an adapted R1. It was mint - he had a hook on a prosthetic arm and fitted some sort of gimbal on his left clip-on so just snapped his hook into that and locked it on place lol. His riding was better than an awful lot of other members so full credit to the lad!

I nearly made the same mistake. Warm and sunny as I was about set off then decided to put my textile jacket and hoody on along with winter gloves. Ok I sweated like a pig on a rotisserie for a bit but I was bloody gld of it later on when the sun went down!

Lol, I was going to make a comment about what .net riders appear to be from seeing them at Southport but I'll refrain Embarrassed

I don't know if France will accept a high-viz t-shirt but they're a great idea! Look a lot better on the bike over some leathers than something from a building site.

The new landlord might not like bikers as it's not the image they want to portray? Makes sense to just stick some burgers etc on just for the night though, they'd make a killing!

Lol the NWB forum has hundreds of members - everything from teenagers to people in their 60s, and from all walks of life. There's always going to be some hooligans in any large enough group, and there will always be people whose conduct doesn't put them in other people's good graces, but you can't police that on a forum. There's some basic rules but other than that the general approach is live and let live, and in real life (i.e. off the forum) let police and/or the laws of physics deal with miscreants. We all know that if you behave like an idiot on a bike then sooner or later the world hands you a spanking

Was anyone here at Southport or Scotch Piper tonight? Saw tons of RSVs, Tuonos and RSV4s! Took pictures of a couple, will upload them if I can be bothered tomorrow lol. One had rsvr.net stickers on the screen!
