Seat Bolt / Spinning Rivnut

   Hey all - apologies if this topic has been flogged to death here, however I just got my 2022 Tuono back from the dealer, went to pull the seat off and YAY - bolt / rivnut is spinning in the frame.
Any thoughts on how to approach this would be appreciated.

Driving me crazy as I was JUST going to flash it tonight. UGH.

	If you can get a riv nut insertion tool you may be able to tighten the riv nut enough to use. It didn’t work for me on my Rsv so I drilled the old one out. The problem is it falls into the subframe and rolls around so I dropped a little araldite onto the loose bit to fix it in one place. Then inserted a new one and it’s been fine ever since.

	Too late on this occasion but you don't need a rivnut tool. Use a cap head screw (good quality high tensile) to match the rivnut. You also need a strip of steel (3 x 12 x 150) with hole drilled in one end matching the dimensions of the screw, a washer and plain nut all matching the screw. Tools required - hex key and open spanner. Place the strip of steel with the hole over the faulty rivnut. Wind the nut onto the screw and add the washer then screw the assembly through the strip and into the rivnut. Ensure the screw is fully engaged with all the threads of the rivnut. Wind the nut down. Insert the hex key. Hold the strip of steel and hex key - these need to be prevented from rotating. Use the spanner to tighten the nut down - this will clench the the rivnut to the inside and underside of the box section and prevent it from rotating - wicking a little red / green threadlocker around the outside of the rivnut can also help but take care not to get it on the inside threaded section of rivnut. Sounds like a bit of a faff but its relatively simple and gives greater control and better crimp.
