Ask a group about preferences for beer, football, women or tyres (Gen 1 or 2 seems a bit contentious too) and the topic will run forever...

Anyway I live in the home of Avon tyres, just changed from their 180/55 3D Ultra sport on my Gen 2 at 3,200 road miles. Found them to work well on the Tuono, hadn't squared off particularly when removed despite Wiltshire's pitiful excuse for tarmac, no weaving at slow speeds, never had any real iffy moments. So pleased that just replaced with same although their later Evo version.

Everyone only ever seems to discuss Pirelli ( i use on track), Metzeler or Bridgestone ( I saw 3 sets of S20s each disappear in under 1200 miles on a Street triple!!) so thought I'd just throw a personal recommendation out there for this particular tyre, can't speak for Avon generally. That's it.....

Nothing wrong with Avon tyres,I'm a fan Thumbs Up

I did plan on fitting some Storm Ultra's ?Evo's ?  on my road Tuono as I'd been very happy with them on my Sv1000s which I used for road and track and never had any issues with them, plus they never seemed to wear out.

Still got a 3d Ultra Extreme on the rear of my track Mille and that was good as well

Current thinking though will probably go S22 instead as they seem to be highly spoken about.

Avon tyres have a proud competition history and only seem downgraded in peoples estimations due to them not spending millions on sponsorship for race series or having highly visible advertising.

They just seem to be happy servicing the touring and cruiser market with the occasional gem like the Extreme Ultra  appearing
