That percepton seems a common one that it feels like a race bike.

I think Aprilia came at it another way around and built a race bike and put it on the road. Most other manufacturers convert road bikes to race.

You may look a tad big but you will fit. Sabre sat astride one at the NEC and he is roughly that build. He looked a bit squished but sort of fitted.

Would i track one, probably not on a regular basis unless it were post the major engine updates of 2011 based on what i have read. Not a for a racer who is gonna push it that bit harder then us mere mortals. But it might be fun while it lasts.

Mmm now i'm worried i thought only major issues were with the earlier 2009 models? This is a June 2010 model with 2k on it(track prepped). They are the best looking bike out there at the moment and the sound is awesome not the fastest i'll agree but i only instruct now, im planning a trip to spain in March and am having 3 days on track......long way to go if she dont hold up????

I would take a look on af1 and make up your own mind as that has the largest contingent of owners. some major tales of woe but also some with no issues on there.

It seems to go that you either get a gem that gives little or no trouble or you get a complete dog that is no end of grief.  (quality control ?)

2010 aprc or 2011 R and Factory had some pretty extensive engine mods nearly all to do with oil feed and stronger bearings. As always the issues are compounded by Aprilia not backing it up very well. If that bike has gone this far with no engine issues then it might be a good one but worth checking. Get the Vin put into the aprilia database and see what it had thrown at it parts wise.
