Hi ive found that when you have difficulty finding neutral it could be the first sign that you have got air in your clutch system, first port of call faulty slave cylinder seals? as these are the cheapest .  If you still having probs You cant get replacement master cylinder seals  so it becomes expensive replacing the master cylinder.!!!  Later rsv,s change the size of a clutch jet situated behind the slave cylinder to try and improve finding neutral. Not sure of the size but its a cheap enough mod. Jools

firstly check you don't have air trapped around the bleed nipple oin the clutch M/C

Then do a search on the site for Clutch oil jet (in faq i think) . Aprilia did a mod to help with the issue which was standard from 06 onwards but can easily be fitted to the earlier bikes also.

They are a bit clunky with the neutral when cold, if there was a prob with the hydraulics, it might drag, try pumping the lever a few times before selecting neutral.Might improve with a change of fluid.Using a quality fluid ,dot etc.

I have found with my bike that it is not so easy finding neutral from 1st, but it usually pops in straight away from 2nd.
