Well a little test ride cut very short due to it started pissin down🤬bike felt very good even the rear brake, but notice when just pottering along gear change is great but open it up and felt like I couldn't change gear? Don't know
If it's new boots or something not good never done this before
Didn't have long enough to check properly any thoughts 👍

Are you sure your chain isn’t too tight having played with the wheels ? If it still does it next ride maybe you have a clutch issue, as in air in the system or something.

Even without a clutch you should be able to shift at higher rpm by backing off the throttle a bit. Essentially manually doing what a quick shifter does. If it won’t do that it’s not the clutch.

I'll re check chain i did do 25mm play at tightest spot but will re check  also bleed clutch, good point I'll try a cluthless shift on next ride I did have a quite shifter on but took it off so use the clutc a lot more now.

Well this a bit embarrassing 😳
Looks like new boots and gear shift didn't get on haha must of been a weird angle or something 🤔 I re checked the chain seemed OK,didn't re bleed clutch felt fine all I done was sat on it with new boots on and realised I was hitting the peg arm for some reason so adjusted the peg so it felt comfortable went for a half decent spin going up n down gears not a problem, think I'll still keep an eye on it just in case 👍

It's amazing what a difference new boots make mate I've had to move peg position on several bikes to get comfy again.

I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left

The difference between a thin soled race boot and a comfy, waterproof touring boot is amazing as well.

It's amazing how much the pedal can need lifting to get your foot underneath sometimes.

Hey B.A,Ian hope alls well.
I just hope it was the boot weirdly they are sport/race boot.
I rode out the day before with old boots on and absolutely fine, got new one's day after and noticed my foot was bent way down and couldn't select gears when opened up a bit and I mean a bit I've got two new tyre's on and it's cold so was being careful 🙃 all i  done was rotate the peg and all is well 🤔just can't stop thinking something got stuck or wasn't quite right,it is 20 years old now in I've had 9 totally fault free years with it so not bad really if something is playing up.
