Hi All,
I need to tell my insurance that I'm now on Insulin for diabetes.

Has anyone else had to do this and if so what should I expect?

Will they raise my premium or impose restrictions?

Thx.

I guess it depends if It's under control; as long as your doctor signs you off as fit to drive I'd guess you'd get insurance. Not sure what the premiums would be like though. Maybe worth speaking to one of the Diabetes charities about it.
Have you told DVLA?

This is taken from Diabetes uk website.

Most car insurance companies no longer penalise people with diabetes by charging higher premiums. If you feel that you are being discriminated against, complain to your insurance company. If you are not satisfied with their response, switch to another company. There are plenty to choose from and you can transfer your no claims bonus to your new company.
