Hi folks new to forum i have just bought a gen2 millie having been stood for a while i have put a new battery on it the immobiliser light on the dash has stopped flashing and stays on permanently is this a problem if how do i go on about sorting it cheers Steve

If the bike still runs its almost certainly a faulty immobilisor ecu. They suffer dry joints with age and or water ingress. A solid light is the state of a virgin ecu when new ( as in no key codes stored) but won’t be the case here. 

Either cut the ecu open and see if the joints are fixable, get a new ecu or take it to somewhere like Ap workshop and have it bypassed although that might affect your insurance. You might get lucky if you disconnect the battery again for a bit but it will return at some point.
