hi wonder if any of you intelligent people can help me, i have a 2004 rsvr have not used bike for a few years i decided to take bike for an MOT, when i went to pick up the bike the tester informed me that on full left lock bike would cut out and when bars are strait it will start again, so i pulled lightly on left hand cables with bars syrait and it cut out and will not do anything. symtoms are with ignition on no pump priming, no neutral light side stand switch on all the time and immobilider light flashing all the time, it had e replacement immobiliser a few years back i have done continuity fest on all wiring and cant seem to find any breaks, any advise would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Hello

Inspect the wire from the pick up ring around the ignition key is not damaged. It goes to the immobiliser and was very tight even when new and could be coming apart maybe.
Otherwise any of the cables from the starter switch.

Could consider bypassing the immobiliser also

The bike uses switched earths so maybe the stand light etc activating indicates those wires are finding a ground. That would suggest a frame rub or maybe 2 wires shorting inside the black wrap. Quite a few looms of that era are now suffering insulation cracking etc especially in high heat areas.  I would look around the headstock and maybe back of the dash as well as the areas already mentioned for chaffing etc. you might have to unwind some of the black wrap on the loom to separate wires for a better look.
