Welcome to the Ape world Handshake

Odd things big twins, you either grow to love them,or hate them and rush back to Il4's

You may have already been told but ideally you should check a couple of things, firstly if it has the OE stand throw it away now and fit the American version or Fireblade unit before it topples over.

Secondly while it's at Griff's get him to supply you a set of uprated battery cables courtesy of our Mr John Walker.

After that the expenditure is pretty much down to your willpower and the depth of your pockets

Cheers Ian, nice to meet you! I'm a North Walian, trapped in South Cheshire Wink

I'm one of those guys that meticulously research before buying and then buy the first thing they see! Wacko

So I made sure the bike had the Fireblade sidestand, the revised gearing, a trickle charger inlet, a Puig screen, Akropovic race cans, bigger battery and had visited AP Workshops at least once in it's lifetime! So in short, I bought it off a bloke who knew what he was doing!

I had to scratch the V twin itch, I'd only ever ridden one before, a 996 that I blagged a test ride from Woods of Abergele in the 90's, after about an hour I gave it back and went off to have armpump surgery! Why the clutch had to be that stiff I don't know?!

I've only ever ridden IL4's really, last 2 being zx7r's, modern classics! It was time to drag myself into the semi modern era, so I jumped right in! LOL

Hi, welcome. Gen 2 T Factory owner as well. I came from IL4s & triples, found the T constantly engaging , never gives a dull or boring ride punching hard out of corners and is the bike I (nearly) always go to first in the garage. Enjoy it and it's idiosyncracies.

Hi mate,
Had never ridden a v twin until about 16 years ago when my mate bought a rsvr on a whim and let me go on her, I was absolutely blown away with her and was totally wanting one by the end of that day.
Traded my zx9r for a 2002 yellow rsvr from woods 2 weeks later, two more rsvr’s followed over the years and now I’m on a tuono (getting old)
LOL Love them.
Enjoy yours mate.

Mate of mine had Mille in 2001, I was on a GSXR 600 and I  remember walking past the Mille and he started it up as I past, I nearly sh*t myself, I'd never heard anything so loud! Until now that is!LOL

On the nostalgia front it's all changed at Woodies now, only one recognizable face from years ago and that's Alan in the stores,Woody sold up and it's now just another corporate franchise with no personal touch.

Ah, not been out that way for many a year! Talking of nostalgia though,  I remember, must have been in the 90's part exing an old GSX550ES in for an RF600 at a place on the coast, can't remember the name of it now, but I'm sure it was just off the coast road and set back at the bottom of a hill with a steep drive up to it. May have been Prestatyn or Towyn or something like? While I was doing the deal I was offered a test ride on the Laverda 650, which was proper trick in the day! My GSX's rectifier blew on the way home up the Rhuallt hill! Had a week to fix it and had to rewire one off an RG250 to it! Happy days! 😊

Could have been Prestatyn, there used to be a bike shop run by a guy called I think,Mike Hosgood?  right outside the shop was a steep bridge over the railway. Been gone for many years though.

Welcome, 09 tuo factory here, really like your mirrors what make are they ???? Oh I’ve never had a problem with the side stand but I always give tug on the left h/ bar to settle it down . Agree with dealing with Griff at A/P, he’s always very helpful.

They are Rizoma, and they work well but you have to look in them, you can't glance in them,if you know what I mean?!
