Hi all. Got a friend who's an instructor with msv and his 07plt gen2 has died but he's working tomorrow. Key on , dash on but no cranking as if the kill switch is on. Will turn over if we bridge the solenoid. Not the tip over Not the battery Not the ignition barrel or key Not the sidestand switch Any ideas? Only thing we haven't swapped or checked is the ecu. Any help gratefully received. ------------- I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left |

Forgot to add that Chris we've swapped that out too with a complete lockset no joy but a good shout. ------------- I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left |

Could it be the clutch switch been dislodged? Can't remember what symptoms gives when it happens ------------- 04 Tuono Fighter 1060 gen2 motor & some.... |

Could be I'm now at work for the night so I've had to leave him to it I'll text him. Oddly the neutral light wouldn't come on although it was in neutral. Do you know where/what that sensor is mate? ------------- I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left |

I’d bridge the clutch switch and the side stand switch out. I’ve a clutch switch somewhere I think if proper stuck? Maybe you’ve one in spares already Adam. I’d still chop it out regardless. Otherwise nose off and look at the loom where it runs ynder the air intake. Sorry gents I wasn't clear . I know where the clutch switch is and I sold my last one to Jon ( Ice-mille) a couple of weeks ago. He has ASV levers and no clutch switch fitted. We've re-done the side stand bypass incase it was that. I meant where is the neutral light sensor as its not on even though its in neutral?? James I'll get him to check the wiring under the nose fairing  ------------- I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left |

If the bike thinks it’s in gear and you have no clutch switch then it won’t start as the safety circuit will kill the starter. You either need to fit a clutch switch or fix the neutral issue. On a gen2 there is no diode pack so if the neutral switch meters out ok then either there is a wiring issue or the ecu is fubar. So fingers crossed it’s the neutral switch.
You could bridge the wires of the clutch switch connector to prove a point. ( assuming it’s a closed switch with clutch engaged)

He's tried a separate ecu and no different I'll see if he has a clutch switch as it's a race bike I'm not sure if he has. Thanks for all the advice as ever gents. ------------- I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left |
