Hello Guys!

I've got a late Gen 1 that won't idle right. RPMs keep surging and the engine cuts out when blipping the throttle fast from idle rpms.

So far i have replaced the plugs, reset the trimpots to noon and tried resetting the idle screws to base settings. Sadly this had no effect so i used the old settings (2 / 1.25 turns out front and rear). The weird part is that the idle screw for the rear cylinder seems to have no effect at all. Even with the screw 3+ turns out or fully closed it does not seem to make any difference. There are no visible vacuum leaks though i have not sprayed it with carb cleaner yet.

The only thing that seems to work is leaning out the rear cylinder so that the trimpot sits at about 10 o' clock. This however makes the bike pop like crazy so i reverted the trimpot to noon.

Does anybody have tips ideas about what could be going on here?

Although you say you have checked, this certainly sounds like a vacuum issue.
