A few months ago on the way back from Scotland I decided to crash my zx9r, luckily with copious amounts of tape I managed to ride it home the last couple hundred miles, so a rebuild has begun starting with a new frame as the bike landed heavily on the left and cracked half way along the main spar. I was going to strip the original frame and scotchbrite it so I’ve done the new frame and a zx10 c1h swingarm for it, I also dropped the forks and Öhlins shock off at revs suspension yesterday for a service and ktech valve kit.

I bought the 10r arm with all the adaptors ready to bolt is so thought it would be an easy job as it came out of another 9r but my rear wheel is about 20 mm wider at the full spacer width and won’t go in the arm so rcd is going to fit his qr kit in it,I hit the rear of a farm trailer that was turning right into an entrance with no indicators working, screeed my leg and arm up a bit and wrenched my neck , I did a fantastic rolling stoppie, Pfm for the win as without them it would of been worse.

The frame and swingarm will stay bare and I’ll just acf50 it, I’ve bought some second hand oe bodywork to be painted in the original colours . Mark at rcd is going to weld some of his qr’s in the 10 arm and I’ve gotta send my front dymag to dymag for a small repair. Took a few weeks for my neck to recover as I don’t bounce as well as I used to, more like a big sack of spuds landing.

Cool that's pretty trick. Wow that's a horrible thing to happen glad those monster anchors done their best! Wish I'd seen the stoppie

The bike was seriously high but I think it saved it from a lot of extra damage to the forks and wheel, there’s a small nick on the wheel but it would probably of been scrap otherwise.

Glad to hear you're ok Warren.
If we have an RSVR.net get together, we'll book you to do the stunt show
Knowing you, the Kwak is headed to be another masterpiece.
Nice rear shock

You couldn’t afford my fee for a stunt show, rebuilds aren’t cheap 😭 I got the Penske shock off of a guy in Poland who bought it by mistake, he had it all serviced to put in his bike and found it was wrong.

They’ve come out really nice, only bit that’s off is the zx9r sticker as it’s got a blue colour in it it’s slightly different to the main paint, he only charged me £300 so I wasn’t going to complain.

that will look fantastic when its all back together buddy. luvly bikes, the zx9r and very under rated. fantastic engine and excellent on our sh*te roads, even in standard form. so yours should be awesome.
they seem to be a bike a lot of folk keep hold of. i looked for a nice green E1 before i got the zx12 and theres bugger all around here for sale, mostly knackered c1's.

I originally bought this to save using the Mille in bad weather, I always liked the looks but never rated them until I rode one and they are a seriously under rated bike. Very stable and forgiving and deceptively fast and you can get a curry and chips under the seat.

To right buddy.
Id still buy one if a nice came up, Only good thing about them being under rated is theyre a bargain As everyone goes for the blade or r1 of that era.

That's a long muffler. Should be nice and quiet that. Or maybe not, looking at the size of that outlet.

This is the length of the laser can that was on originally that I’ve put on an f2 we’re building, it’s no longer than that just higher.

Then Dymags, they are to me the finest wheels to look at hemi, I maybe biased as I grew up with them and had the 3 spoke ones on my old race bikes. I got a great price for the 18inch wheels too, which I sold last year to a lad in the classic club for his TZ👍

Well I finished this a while ago, I’ve just bought some ultimate addons heated grips with a healtech thunder box to connect any addons, the grips are really nice as they don’t have any extra cheap looking controls and the thunder box makes connecting anything really easy, it monitors voltage so turns everything off when ignition is turned off and won’t turn anything on until cranking is finished and settled down.

Gotta finish shortening wires as I connected to test everything but it all works very well and incredibly easy to fit, it must be as this electricarry is voodoo to me and I made it work.
