First longish run I've had since my back went *pop* at the end of January. Absolute h00t to ride. This thing is 16 years old yet it still puts a huge grin on your face because of the sheer raw speed it can muster and the ease it has of gobbling up tarmac at silly mph. As the '59 plate Gixxer 1000 behind me found out between Callander and Lochearnhead. Wink Love this bike, can't ever see me part with her. Thumbs Up

Yep they are fantastic real world bikes, you can have the latest 200hp mega missile but we are all just normal joe bloggs riding on normal roads.

Yes m8, the roads up that way are outstanding. I'm very lucky to have so many good routes to choose from on my doorstep. Thumbs Up

It's Cheesy's old Renegade Stainless 2-2 system, I stuck the heatproof Arrow decals on it simply because I like the look of them, lol.

The Gixxer which sat up my hoop on the road up eventually passed me by means of a rather dodgy overtake at a point in the road that I would not have considered safe. I think he was getting annoyed that an old girl like my Mille was in front of him (or maybe his ears were bleeding because of the noise the Renegade's were making....hahahaha!!!). I did eventually catch him up further up the road but he went a different route.

Had something similar last year when I was out on the tuono and I came across a Big Bang r1 and passed him down the twisties, he really didn't like it but I left him behind and then came upto some lights on a carriageway where ha caught me up and then pulled away with top end but I dug in and had the t at nearly 150 and f**k me I nearly had my head ripped off but the double take he gave me when I passed him again was priceless, shame my neck took about 3 days to recover.

LOL.....sounds familiar. Makes running rings round these sort of riders even more satisfying m8.  LOL

I would say though, it's situations like the one I describe which serve to show just how crap the Mille mirrors are, I was constantly checking for him over my shoulder as I got the impression that he would come past me at some point when I wasn't expecting it.......which he did. Luckily for him I've been riding for too long to realise that it's always best to watch those in yer mirrors who you believe may be a little 'unpredictable'. Wink

I put the rs125 mirrors on my rsv and they make a big difference to the rear view.

Hahaha love it looks so good in red, very jealous of your roads really need to get up to Scotland. It's a great feeling knowing the old girl is more than upto the job and costs a fraction of newer bikes. I always ask myself when I'm looking at different bikes is it really worth 10k more than what I've got? Yet to say yes but maybe it's because I don't have 15k to drop on a bike, or maybe it's just because apes are excellent road bike's and just make you enjoy riding!

I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left

I know what you mean m8, I'm hanging fire for 4 and a half years until I can retire from work and part of my lump sum pension will be thrown at a new bike. I'm considering jumping ship and going for something like a Multistrada Pike's Peak as my back isn't getting any better and I think a more 'sitty uppy' riding position would be wise. That said, I'm gonna have a go on a Tuono V4 first as its an interesting prospect. I'll be keeping the Mille though, for nostalgic reasons!

I love the look of the Gen 2 mirrors on mine but they are worse than the Gen 1 mirrors for rear view vision. And as you can see, I've got mirror extender blocks on mine. Even at that, its still not great. Wink
