I did fare slightly better than the bike, hehe, smashed my femur in two places and fractured my pelvis and was off work for 26 months....was gutted about the R1 though, I loved that bike, had a JHP titanium exhaust, full QB carbon bodywork with endurance headlight,Penske shock, Harris rearsets, Marvic wheels and Blue and white R7 paint.... oh and my Texport leathers where only 4 days old and they had to be cut off....what a day

Hello Foxy.
I actually crashed about a mile from the track on the way home, I can't remember anything but my bike ended up under a tractor and trailer and I was laying in the middle of the road with my leg at a funny angle apparently.... I have a pathological hatred of tractors ever since

Ha, well the good thing was(every cloud and all that ), the bike was that mullered that the insurance assessor must have just saw it from a distance and signed it off as written off and I got paid out, which I wasn't expecting as it was insured as,ahem, standard...oh, and I was off work with the injuries just long enough for my credit care policy to pay-off what I owed on the bike, haha.

I honestly don't know Foxy, I've got a complete blank for about two days, I remember the Marshall opening the gate to let me out of the track and then nothing until two days later in x-ray... I did speak to someone that kind of witnessed some of it though and I think that as I tipped into a slow, tight left hand corner the tractor was coming the other way and because he was turning into a field on the opposite side of the bend,I think he was on my side of the road so he could swing in, and as ive tipped in and saw him I've just panicked and grabbed the front brake or something and that was that... That's my theory anyway, poxy old bill didn't even interview me(although I couldn't have told them anything)Just said because I hit him it was my fault, but didn't charge me with anything...Although I do go very very carefully after trackdays now
