What are the wheel tyre diameters for these wheels-----16.5 or 17" ? 2000 RSV Mille SP "Race SP" OZ-Magnesium Do I assume that they were anodized in the Aprilia blue colour? ------------- 2007 RSV1000 Factory RZ500 H1RR |

Good to hear. Thankfully I have an 01 Mille R and the OZ's are in perfect shape. Weight reduction is definitely on my list of things to do, and pound for pound, the wheels are not bad, cost-wise. I come from the formula car racing world where people spend ridiculous amounts of money for even smaller gains!

Then it gets harder, do you want lights ? When I bought mine they are 5 weeks delivery for the rsv, and hps if you are in Britain are saying there is a price rise coming ! They really are that good ! Bear in mind tyre weights ! I've seen these weight weights discussed many times. But one thing I haven't seen is whether the new gen rsv4 wheels will fit (with spacers perhaps) the v2 models. I have a 2001 race bike. Currently running the Brembo heavy wheels. I'm looking to change the wheels for the weight savings and associated rotating mass gains. So if you rule out the expensive aftermarket wheels and rare magnesium wheels the Oz Forged wheels would be a no brainer. But now we have some very light stock wheels on the rsv4. From other forums I have seen these weights for the new bikes. 09 - 16
RSV4 Factory Front 2.97kg 09 – 16 RSV4 Factory Rear 4.72kg It would seem these wheels are now the pic of the bunch. Can anyone verify these figures as they are supposedly cast Oz wheels. Are these the five spoke or the three spoke variety? Cheers BJL |

Think the RSV4 wheels fit gen 2s but they don't fit gen 1 bikes. The front would need the rotor mounts milling down each side to fit the axial brakes. Though if you had later forks with radial calipers it should be fine. Seen people putting RSV4 Sachs forks on a gen 1. Think with Showa lower triple and Ohlins top yoke. The rear would be fine if it weren't for the sprocket being a little further out. Fine from chain alignment perspective but the sprocket carrier bolts then hit the swingarm. I've heard Amauri I think on AF1 said he spread his swingarm slightly with a bottle jack to give it clearance. Could also stick a gen 2 swingarm on if that's allowed in your race regs. Other than that, think you just have to try your luck with some 20 year old Oz wheels when they pop up. ------------- Owen |
