Hi Radratbike.

I'm just trying to understand my new bike, 2002 RSV Mille R, and its tuning possibilities and have a question regarding the modded collector.

The additional pipework seems to have a reduced diameter compared to the collector. Does this not cause a bottleneck and reduce the mods effectiveness?

BS that just happens to be supported by evidence in the form of dyno runs and multiple recommendations from many forum members including Griff himself is, perhaps, not BS at all!

Great mod from a genuine guy. What more can one say?

Dave

I've got one in my shed and I haven't even opened the packaging it was delivered in yet. Gonna get it done over winter. From everything I've read they're a decent mod. These bikes are big slices of DIY heaven.

I've got a package of updates on mine - Red's modded collector, modded airbox, Edwards airtubes, early year air intake boot and a Forza chip to match and the overall effect is striking. Midrange power improvement without the flat spot, smoother and more responsive. I'm sure the collector gives a significant contribution to this as dyno charts have shown. There only seems to be one doubter on here so take no notice.

Primarily for the Gen1  as it in effect mimic's the 2 into 2 effect of the Gen 2 , however I think Mark was working on a G2 setup (that's when he can tear himself away from his BT Porn tester role)

No, only for the Gen 1 Smudge. They make a 2-1 system perform like a 2-2 giving more midrange BHP

no smudge you have basically an aprilia copy of the gen1 akra system there so its all goodWink

i may try a tigcraft  type front link early next year, the one i tried earlier this year had too big a bore and ruined the fuelling and lost powerOuch

I've got a modded collector off Mr Redratbike for my gen 1 tuono. it has made a great improvement over stock. the bike ticks over more smoothly and there is a definite hike in mid range shove.

If you don't have one,

Get one!

I've not gone down the PC111 route or anything. All I have is an open air box mod from Griff with a FR200 chip and an aprilia EVO titanium can with the collector.

that lot has greatly improved, well, everything! power, torque, response all better just for letting the bike breath easier.

Hi mate I'm really interested in one of theses I'm new to the rsv world so bare with me if I'm way off the mark here , could you tell me if these are the later gen1 headers modified or the earlier ones as I understand there's a difference and the latter ones are a little better for higher up the rev range as they have a increased length . And also could you pm me a cost including postage . Uk address and not in the middle of no wear thanks james

130 exchange including postage but thats a like for like collector i.e. 01-03 collector  exchanged for the same ,

i can also do you a 98-00 rear only modded collector £100 exchange posted...which produces much the same results as it flows better than the later ones to begin with google redratbike nmodded collector images..the dyno sheets are out there

top end i'd say is not really worth chasing the whole point of the modded collector is the midrange increase ...10bhp at between 4.5-6.6k rpm

prices 3 posts back

basically mimics a dual system without the cost gives you a nice midrange hike ( 10bhp) which these bikes end up with when fitting a  race can.

always combine with a new eprom/chip from someone like forza aprilia http://www.forzaapriliaracing.co.uk/" rel="nofollow - http://www.forzaapriliaracing.co.uk/

and possibly an airbox or free flowing filter to get the most benefits

google redratbike modded collector for images to see the dyno sheets

Tony

Try and get the later model collector (its a direct fit) as it has better performance characteristics and even better when its modded by Mark.

Nope.....I ran both but went back to the early one as it moved the torque down the rev band.

Redratbike;
Have an 02 RSV Mille r and would like to get the exhaust collector mod done. I live in the states. Would you suggest that I ship my OEM collector to you, or would it be more cost effective to buy an already modified collector from you?
Thanks

Posted By: redratbike
Date Posted: 30 Jun 2024 at 00:36
postage both ways and the mod would probably kill the deal

outright may as well as it would be £170+ the cheapest on ebay to replace my stock + postage

but doing myself out of business i have a guy in california that can help you out

let me get his details
