I saw a post ' £6k to spendt, best 600-750? ' .. I was going to put RSV.. but started reading, and came accross a post I never thought I would see... here's a part. .. gobsmacked me
"I also didn't like the low down grunt of the V-Twin; I didn't really want the power to be there all the time whether I liked it or not; I found I used the clutch SO much that I gave myself hand cramp (maybe that was the heavy clutch).
It's all down to personal preference at the end of the day. If I was riding a lower powered bike, I would probably choose a V-Twin, but for a high powered bike, I prefer the low-down gentleness of an 4. A triple is a compromise between the two...less top end then a 4 and less low down grunt than a Twin, or more top end than a twin and more low down grunt than a 4, depending which way you look at it. "

Read some of his thread but all I could see was "Blah, Blah, blah, ......" Strikes me as the type you see leaning on the bar of the pub telling stories of when he raced against the Barry Sheene, or outran the police on his RD250. If he spent less on all the bike magazines he quotes from he could afford a new RSV4.

Sounds to me that this guy thought he knew what he was talking about....clearly his control of the throttle is a little to be desired as when you want less power, you apply less throttle.....what a numpty.
Also, talking out his arse...had to be said, but he was. Why o why did Yammy reinvent the R1 with a crossplane crank??? To reduce crank flutter by balancing out the reciprical masses....which in turn gives a very V twin firing order, which aids grip and control.....in an inline 4 engine.
Anyways, I'll go away now and turn off my Numpty alarm...

i had a ride up to hawes once abot 10 years or more ago and was sat in this cafe , there was 2 guys in there talking about doing road tests for some bike mags , they were freelance , one was testing a 250 two stroke supermoto , cant remember what the other one was testing , i passed the supermoto on the way up there and he was riding it like a pussy , and to look at these two guys you could have sworn the had walked off the harry potter set as stand in doubles , not what you would expect a road tester to look like , all they did was bitch and moan lol .

I want more low down grunt, not less! My days of going 170mph are pretty much over, I am more interested in getting from 0-120mph in the quickest time possible
Cant beat that feeling when you just bang the throttle and it takes off like a bullet. I want instant power and I want it NOW!

Whatever next! Hate it when people talk s**t. Had a bit of a 'disagreement' with some t**t a couple years back when I rode to the pub me missus worked in and walked in. Upon hearing the thunder of my arrival, he walks out for a looksy and comes back in. "nice mate, my cousin had one of them, that suzuki motors a beast" "err no, if it was Italian with that motor it was most likely a cagiva raptor youre thinking of, these use a Rotax" bloody idiot wouldn't have it so I just told him to buggr off and google aprilia rotax when he got home. Tool!

A bloke came to buy some paddock stands off me the other day, asked what I had and was telling him. He had a newish zx10, said 'I looked at the rsv's but they aren't quicker than a new r6 top end' I asked if he rode on the road and he said 'yeah only on the road'......I didn't say anything but obviously who goes over 150mph on the f&£king road!! Quite why people can't make up their own minds without canvassing the world at large I don't understand.
