Well last night on the way home someone stepped out from between a queue of traffic in front of the guy in front of me , he swerved and braked my handlebar caught him and I went down like a sack of souds on my elbow which has jolted my shoulder.

Very limited movement and constant pain ,which increases to nigh on agony when I move it certain direction.big lump/graze/bruise on my inner thigh and gashed knee and shin, bruised heel and swollen elbow.

Was only going about 20mph
Dangerous things these bicycles.!!!!

And to top it off snapped brake lever& bent gear shifter ,bent barend and ripped my new £60 leggings

Just been to the quacks for anti inflams and pain killers now off to the hospital for an x-ray,...BUGGER,

Oh and to top it off the twat who stepped out disappeared without a trace.
Happened in new cross and had to ride 10 miles home in pain

Mark, did he have pointy ears and a strange uniform on, and did he say your riding into him was"illogical"? in which case he beamed up and you'll never find him, that is what you meant by dissapeared wasn't it?

With any luck it'll just be tissue damage and not broken which may take a little longer to heal but will be easier in the long run.

And give up riding pushbikes, they're bloody dangerous those things, I'd probably kill myself if I started riding one of those, and the wife won't let me have one anyway.

On a financial note can you claim on your household insurance?

Ha ha cheers Lads

Ok so it is just soft tissue damage by the look of it official results back tomorrow

Yep my right arm so that's xhamster out of the window,it's like having a false limb can't push pull or carry anything

First accident I've had in approx 10,000 miles in 2 years riding to work and it wasn't my fault so all good there really....

And I'll look into the household insurance but doubt if I'll claim anyway it hiked up after we got burgled dont really want it any higher,,but I'll check what I'm covered for

Unlucky Mark, hope you're ok and mend quickly without any after effects mate.
I came to blows with a cyclist last week - his fault - jumped off the kerb in front of me with headphones on, and no lights on!
I'd never leave the scene though, I felt dreadful even though it wasn't my fault and took him home with his bike.

ha ha you know what this is the first time I have seriously hurt myself in years never crashed  a motorbike and cant remember when I crashed a bicycle last must have been a teenager so over 20 years ago....

the doctor said soft tissue damage but to be honest she never even got me to lift it etc to show where  or how it was hurting didn't prod or poke so I don't know if its ligament , tendons or what there's no bruising on the shoulder.

Unlucky mate, I dislocated my shoulder when a van pulled in front of me at about 25mph.

Your description of the pain sounds very similar to mine, it popped back in by itself as I hit the deck after hitting the frame of the door (obviously aimed for the hardest bit of car I could find ) but left me with a torn rotator cuff which is the ligaments around the top of the shoulder.

F**cking painful like you describe when you try and raise your arm.

Only took 3 years to heal properly Wink if it doesnt improve get your arse back to quack for a scan on the ligaments.

Bloody lovely custom built Pearson written off in that crash and the driver buggered off and 3 cyclists rode round me out cold on the deck, security guard from Hampton Court saw it from his office and came out to me!!
