this is my r that I intend to do mainly tds on and if I get on with it maybe more, this is it as I got it and after its first clean, so far I have modified the collector, fitted an evo spacer and spacer below the filter the type that's shaped like a bellmouth, fitted a forza chip, added a second nrv to the standard slipper, changed from oem gearing to 16fr 43r removed the restrictor in the airbox and cut the wire replaced the rear wheel bearings, plus removed a sh*t load of chain wax it has been the worst job yet, hate the stuff, for the new year it will be going to clarance bell at plr for service of forks and shock, maybe heavier springs, poss a new chain hopfully second hand race fairin http://s249.photobucket.com/user/cheesie_2008/media/100_0646.jpg.html" rel="nofollow"> gs  picture is before I stripped it

tried it for the first today with the mods above, the bike pulls to the limiter faster and without a drop off in power, with the second nrv fitted to the standard slipper clutch engine braking has been greatly reduced, plus it seems a lighter tug on the lever cheap mod, no jerky throttle response at low speeds so forzas chip seems to be spot on, gonna move the engine oil breather pipe to the rhs of the air box to stop oil floating around the airbox, I still have a problem with low speed weave that I cant pin point changed the wheel bearings fr and rear any thoughts would be great chain seems ok, not checked the head stock or swing arm yet, bike might of sat on the tyres for a while prior to me getting it the problem only happens at low speeds ?

I had weave on my Gen1 mille too. I tried all sorts. Wheel bearings, head bearings, frt & rear suspension rebuild, all was aligned correctly but still had the weave. New chain and sprockets but could not shake it-no pun. Tried taking the steering damper off as it could of been that. If anything it made mine worse.
Take the damper off and see if the weave is as noticeable or not (plus its free). Be worth checking your tyres as you suggest.
Impressed with the other mods. I'm hoping someone does a modded collector for a Gen 2 soon.

thanks for the reply I have a bad feeling of going around the world replacing everything like yourself  for it to be tyres,  did you get yours sorted? about the collector don't think I would do it again I would just buy redrats its cheap what he does them for and his welding looks neat

The gen 2 s don't have a mod on the exhaust as the mod is to copy the 2-2 flow I believe

I'm sure RR will be along in a moment to explain but as I understand it, the collector mod replicates a twin-pipe set-up, so the Gen2s don't need it. Feel free to shoot me down if this is wrong.
Nice job Chris. Hope to get mine back on track next year so might see you about.

the ppc hose is attached to the rear throttle body going to the clutch casing rhs as you sit on bike, the hose goes from the rear tb through a nrv then a tee then on down to the clutch, when the throttle is closed the suction releases pressure on the clutch, add a second hose and nrv going to the front tb and you will get more slip, it also has the plus of less effort to pull in the lever the little nrv cost £5 I bought 2 you don't need 2 use the standard plus the aftermarket one I also put in a y shaped tee which I think cost £3 to my door, I had a bit of hose lying around, someone with a bit more technical knowledge might explain it better but it works plus its reversible

I think that's one of Gabro's mods,I read about it quite a while back on Af1.

I seem to recall the general audience was sceptical but he swore by the end result,it was something I meant to try at the time but ended up forgetting about it.

Thanks for reminding me,I may yet get around to it before next season Wink

Well I assumed that to start with but Redrat is working on one I saw on here somewhere so fingers crossed. Smile

In response to the weave? Well I never fully got rid of it. Everything I did improved it slightly each time. It was most noticeable with the damper off and it would feel a bit like a pendulum swinging (if anyone has ridden one of those?) and it was frustrating and expensive. I learnt then I should of gone to AP performance rather than rely on my dealer whom took my cash and then was not all that helpful afterwards.

If enough of you got together perhaps the AP Roadshow could be persuaded to come over, and probably sink a few cold Guinness as well.

What the purpose of the filter , is it to try and stop the oil going all over the airbox , also would it work the same with 1 valve and a y piece before the valve or would it poss cause problems with the tb being linked

Personally I would have a matching pair of valves especially as they are cheap,,standard ones prone to failure

As for the breather filter saw this on af1 as well good idea

Another of the things I meant to do when fitting my Evo kit but I ran out of time before the track days.

Afterwards I just put the bike away and forgot about it as priorities changed.

I believe that is what the air box was designed for in the first place and it wasn't implemented for some reason at the last minute.

This is one of kzmille's mods I think?

I done it this way to show you don't need to buy 2 valves I have the second new valve here they are only £5 the Y shaped t I think cost £2 the hose I had, its the best £7 mod I have done on any bike, cant see why it wont work with 1 nrv and a hose going from each tb might just not work as good,

I have a single spring and diaphram valve as shown, 2 valves made no appreciable difference other than add a more complex pipe arrangement.

maybe the collector mod has had an affect on the engine breaking, I will do a comparison in the summer, meanwhile head bearings out they were worn looked like over torqued, new ones orderd thanks to griff for pointing me in the right direction, forks are of to prolink racing for new oil and respring
