Hi everyone,

New to the forum and back on a bike after few years off, I have ridden twins before but not owned so decided to buy a twin for the first time.

What great value for money.

I will be looking for an aftermarket exhaust and seat cowl soon, anyone selling? any suggestions on mods?

steve

Welcome mate, looks like a cracking bike you've got there.

I'm sure the masses will be along shortly to help you spend money, however in short you need to speak to ED (Forza Racing eprom) and Redratbike (modded collector) then call Griff who owns Aprilia Performance (and this forum) and get the bike set up properly.

Oh and probably change the gearing if it hasn't already been done.

Well its been a busy couple months but managed to get a fair bit done, Gen 2 exhaust fitted and cored which sounds superb although will I be able to use it on long runs we will see. I think it looks so much better and retains aprilia's original touch. Anyway the sub frame is of having a high gloss powder coating and the undetray I have modified to except a tail tidy. Also ordered a few extra goodies plus new decals for fairings. so much to do. This may end up a nut and bolt rebuild.

Well the Rsv got its first ride out ( minus the seat cowl ) very happy with all the work done but plenty more to do next winter. I could write a list of things done but just a quick pic for now. Loving the new gearing though, that's the best mod.

62.5 mm tubing with wire wool packing for heat displacement as single siders on a twin run so hot. The sound is near to perfect for what I want but to load for track day use. Sounds like a zorstec in many ways.

That's interesting. I was wondering whether the gen 2 pipe was a straight fit. I assume the bend and diameter of the link pipe is spot on then? Or did you need to manipulate them?

Beautiful bike. Same as mine but black. Brilliant isn't it?

Looking sweet as that is chief...i agree with ya on the gen 2 can on it dude, I was gonna look for after market cans for my gen 2 but didnt want to take away from the original look of the bike so cored them an shortened then by 75mm each can...sounded amazing.

Silencer is gen 2 but the link pipe is of a scrap gen 1 that i picked up for a fiver. It did take a little time but most was used up doing the silencer internals. Love the bike, very good mid corner. Still think I need 15t front sprocket and not the 16t I just put on.

I had a pair of them black cans on my 05 and i always liked the look of them but i replaced them with open cans for the noise etc but you have the best of both worlds there mate it looks proper nice that .. and sounds sweet as well ...

just looked at the first pic and tbh i prefer the look of the back end with seat and not the cowl.

Posted By: flipsideracing

I thought it looked odd with no rear pegs and seat so the natural thing was to put the cowl on it. However i love the revised rear unit on the gen 1.5 but I prefer the look of the previous seat cowls. I tried to get a mold done to replicate the old style to fit but lost patience with it. This is why it has the early ape rear light cowl grafted on it.
