That's my concern these daysConfused

I'd also love a small, nimble 2 stroke but unfortunately I'm very far from being small and nimble myself so it would be asking a lot from a bike,at least the Ape has room to get comfy enough grunt to get me into (and out off) trouble.

As said previously,250's no good to me Wink

Even a 250 size bike with a bigger engine is still too small for comfort.

Destiny will have to wait.

The only good thing for an rgv250 is an rg500 engine

Two smokes are great to have just for that smell, aaaah remember when I was 17 had a go on a mates old kx500, that was an animal! Being only part old git at 27 and a whopping 5" 8 and 10st an rs250 would fit me, though I don't enjoy 600 style thrashing it to go fast, hence have had v twins since test.

Next time we're on track I'm going to try and blag a session on my mates SuperMono and see how I get on with a small, light bike.

Probably look like an elephant on a Minibike LOL

One things for sure though,it eats big sportsbikes through the twisty bits but loses out on the straights as he's running a standard engine until he can refresh the championship winning one.

Can't remember who built it but it's a known bike with lots of history,I think it was one of 2 or 3 identical bikes built for the sole purpose of winning the championship.

I recall him saying that the guy who tuned the engine is sadly dead now so a lot of the build secrets are now lost, but it has a trellis frame around Gp 125 size with I think TZr & Rs running gear and was powered by a mega tuned Rotax single running 2 big F off flatslides.

It won a major championship when these things were current years back but he found it impossible to control as it's so peaky it only has one throttle position, wfo and bogs down if the revs drop slightly so he fitted an otherwise standard engine with just a big single mikuni for use while he refreshes the race motor.

It's as light as a feather and a doddle to load in the van single handed, whereas the Mille is like a battleship by comparison.

Pure artwork there! I have fantasies of a trellis framed Tuono ala KTM Superduke. A French dude made a trellis frames racebike based on a Mille. Hats off to him:

It's just had a nut & bolt ground up rebuild and the frame powder coated,it looks nice with it's bodywork on although that is all still in white.

Sounds great though with that exhaust system, even though it's running a virtually bog standard engine.

I had a rgv 250 vj22 that I bought in box's to build a cheap track bike, the guy had done all the expensive stuff, powder coating ,paint etc ,so I just put it together , fitted a set of tyres & fresh set of pistons & sorted the best set of power valves for it, finished it & was dissapointed after riding big bikes for so long ,I stuck on the bay & someone offered £2400 without out looking at it , er ang on let me think ,Sold, only paid £800 for it & then used the dosh for an ex race R6 with fresh motor , loads of spares & full ohlins & enough left to do trackdays for a year
Sometimes dreams of the old days are best left as dreams,I so want a Yam IT 175 to wizz around on but know its gonna be turd after riding my gasgas 300

Dont stop me looking for an lc though Hee hee

That's the trouble isn't it? they say never meet your heroes as you're bound to be disappointed, and the same goes for old bikes I think.

I sometimes fancy an Lc or something similar and then I see one and realise their forks are not much thicker than modern clipons Shocked

My mate really enjoys tracking his old NSR250 though, and actually prefers it to the SuperMono so they still work if you ride them right.

Sorry don't appear to have any,I've never bothered taking any,and that was just a random one that was sent to me after it's rebuild as I'd last seen it as a bare, newly powder coated frame.
