I'll be out and about in North Wales on Sunday, pending the weather, it looks OK at the moment.
Usual haunts, Ruthin, Denbigh Moores, Betws, Dolgellau, Bala, Ponderosa I expect.
Drop a message if you fancy it and we can meet up,
I'll be out with a Blade and Street Nipple!

Meeting at the Rhug farm shop, or Bison Cafe as its known generally, for a fierce bacon and chilli butty at 10 o'clock.
Coffees are on me if anyone fancies a ride out, will do Betws-Ffestiniog-Dolgellau-Bala Lake- Ponderosa.

Hope your ride went well today Typan sorry I missed it, any pics, any plod updates for us?
Got my baffles out today, and cranked it open, sounds menacing!!

yes johnboy,i went to mold, ruthin, llangollen, and then on to corwen and over denbigh back to warrington.cops out in force all over.got stopped coming back from the pondorossa going into llangollen.near the eistedford thingy.had my very first breath test in my life .copper said straight away, that he was here not  to check my bike and details etc.they are having a crackdown on drink driving, especially those who drink the night before.so be warned fellow ape riders,if your in wales over the summer they are doing random breath test stops. back to the ride,a lot colder than i thought it would be, and very windy.freezing at the top of the horseshoe pass.only did 140 miles today a bit of a dissapointing ride. might stay off the bike for a few weeks getting bored.finding i have to go fast to enjoy it.sometime wish i had kept my cruiser. a much more relaxed ride.well you cant have it all. john boy they will hear you coming so be carefull mate.

Probably, although I've pretty much worn a groove in the road by now. I may detour to see a mate in Conwy if he's had his bike MOTed in which case the furthest we'll get is Bewse y coed I expect.

T,
Being breathalyzed is something I've never experienced although local Plod do have these periodic purges where they'll basically close off a road and sample random road users.

Tbh, I don't have a problem with that as long as it doesn't make me late for work as they tend to favour early monday mornings to catch the w/end boozers.

In spite of rumours of gestapo tactics I've never had any hassle when out riding even in the Brunstrom years but my bikes are pretty standard and don't draw attention.I think the anti bike bias is pretty much a thing of the past now and the anti speed thing is generally aimed at all road users, although I dare say there are still some awkward barstewards with anti bike sentiments out on patrol.

That's the same feeling I'm getting, you ride what is basically a race rep and it's the wrong bike for a relaxing ride.  I'm thinking about higher bars and lower gearing.

Looks like you had an almost perfect day! Bar the blowjob you had!!
Do you find riding solo a bit tedious after a bit?
I do, it's always difficult to tie up with other mates as we all run different agendas at the weekend.
That perfect day though with a few good mates is always in the back of my mind :-)

Looks like you found the roads as deserted as I did,saw quite a few bikes out but most of them seemed to be on Bike Safe or NWAM observed rides.

I had to follow a rider & observer for a few miles into Llanwrst on the top road and it was painfull, in the end the observer overtook the pupil and showed him how to speed up a bit but the tw*t was still comfort braking into bends.

I only did about 80 miles, over the top to Betwse then the Moors rd followed by the Brennig run then decided to turn round and reverse the Brennig bit and come home via Bylchai.

Joining the Moors road again from Brennig just past the Sportsmans Arms was interesting because as I pulled out I could see what looked like a Duc Multistrada/hyperstrada type thing really flying along towards me so I upped my pace from posted limits  to + vat and switched into enjoyment mode.

The ride from there to Bylchai was very enjoyable I have to say, that sit & beg Duc was pretty good,he didn't get too close but we both really hustled through those bends in loose formation.

Sounds perfect Ian, that's one of those memorable and really enjoyable moments when the roads are perfect.
We saw quite a few training groups too, looking like Lilly pop ladies in the hi vis!

Let's hope for good weather then.

If you fancy staying on the A55 till Abergele ( J24) I'll meet you and we can do a run to the Pondy or wherever using some roads you may not have done before.

I wondered what the silver pods were! Looks comfy though mate. Sometimes wish my Aprilia would turn into something like with the push of a button at the end of long day out!
