Hi guys me again I'm looking for oil for my rsv 2006 milli it says 15/50 in manual. The guy who had before me said he just put 10/40. But I know he never took good care of it. would it be ok to put 10/40 in. I've also got a R1 2007 and can get Shell advance ultra fully synthetic for around £25 for 4ltr. 👍 👎

10/40 is fine but unless it had fully synth In before I would be wary of changing to it now. Clutch plates that have spent their life on one type rarely like the change and clutch slip often is the result.

Last year I had a Ducati 999 and had Motul 300v 15/50 double ester fully synthetic recommended by Ducati dealer. So my Aprilia had this last year and runs ok. But expensive thanks for info

I would use the short housing if you have both as there have been stories of low pressure on start up with the larger one.

5w ie w stands for winter , so if its freezing outside you might need it 5w , in warmer counties you might need 15w or more so guess we are mild most of the time and a few weeks of the year it gets above 20c.
So I guess 10w would be right.
