My 07 factory refuses to start. I rode it one Friday and it was fine. Next day went to start it dash lights up, fuel pump sounds like it's priming and when I thumb the starter all I get is what sounds like the fuel pump priming again. I've just found out how to get diagnostic mode up on the dash and when I did it all looked normal on the dash except for " EFI " in the bottom left hand corner of the dash.

Any ideas on anything I can do to breathe life into the bitch again? Thanks :-)

Check ya Battery voltage.

Usually if it re primes it's because the batt voltage went low enough under load to reset the ecu so the power up procedure restarts as if you just turned on the key.

You done all the usual stuff?

Battery charged, blown fuses etc. Two under the seat. What does the voltmeter say when ignition is on? should read 12v.

Other than stuff like the easy bits id cry and call Griff.

Had her on a trickle charger. The battery was probably a month old and the voltage appears to be healthy according to the dash and charger. Do you mean check the voltage as I thumb the starter? I've checked the two 30 amp fuses and they seem to be fine. It's weird because it was fine the day before

Yeah check it when you thumb it as it may drop drastically. Seems unlikely though. Factory immobilisers have been known to go.

Mine would show 12v then drop to 8.5 when cranked. New battery before sprag damage. If yours is new as I say it would be bad luck but could happen if your unsure of it's age perhaps it sat around fully charged for some time. Did you buy the battery?

Ha ha no I checked that the kill switch wasn't engaged! Ok I'll try and fire her up again tomorrow when the neighbours won't mind the noise so much if it did start by chance

Yeah I bought the battery and was using it on my gen 1. Then swapped it over to the gen 2 because the battery is a better spec one than the one the gen 2 had in it. It does have a data tool s4 red alarm/immobiliser so did wonder if that had gone wonky.

Ah but that's the thing! She won't even attempt to spin the engine. All I get is the fuel pump noise again. I'll give it a try tomorrow and let update ya.

That's nearly as bad as me taking an Sv out on a test ride and having to phone the shop to ask how to start it again after taking it home to show the Wife.

They bought it around from the w/shop running and forgot to tell me Suzuki's need the clutch pulling in before the starter'll work. Embarrassed   Oops.

Take comfort in the fact there are only two type's of people, those that have done it and those that are going to do it.

Oh yeah I had the same thing when I first rode my mates 675. I couldn't get it started either for the same reason, didn't pull the clutch in! Only had to push it about a mile in full leathers on a summers day. Shoulda known as I've ridden quite a few gixers over the years.

I'm quite prepared for all the Mickey taking to come but it won't be able to wipe the smile off my face that my pride and joy lives again. What an absolute donut

Next time it won't start, don't blame it all on the bike.....try and look at it from a neutral perspective
