I have just re-joined these forums after many years away.
I bought my (1998/9) Mille in 2001 and its the original tr-colour (best) version. I have not had it on the road for around 12 years, but just got it started up this week for the first time after an oil/filter change. A question (i think i already know the answer to), should i change the tyres over as a matter of course? The look brand new and the garage has been in a heated garage on paddock stands since i took it off the road. The bike started almost immediately, but would have been quicker still if i remembered it had a manual choke. I did notice petrol dripping from the overflow pipe (going on to the exhaust), which actually flowed when i started it up. Any idea why this would be? I also remember that the clutch fluid appears to leak from somewhere (unknown where yet). Is there a usualy place for this to happen? |

Welcome back
Yes to changing the tyres. The rubber will have gone hard so although they may look ok I doubt they will feel nice to ride and reduced grip. The dripping fuel is probably the pipes in the tank that link the cap drain etc to the tank base. They will either have split or been compromised by the ethanol in fuel especially if the bike was stored with fuel in it

Right here from our forum hosts: And while you are in there, it's probably worth fitting this kit too: I'm sure Griff has videos about both of these products on his YouTube channel
