I think the main thing to take from this discussion is that we all desire something different Wink

Interested that you are swapping Um Bongo (Hug) for a box trailer.

In the US they call them "toy haulers" and basically have a kitchen, shower and bed plus workshop space and tie down points.

Will you be making your own interior etc?

Did the bike fit into Um Bongo (Hug) easily? Never considered one, but really need another van myself. Got a VW T32 that I'm doing up for resale as I need something a bit newer than what it is.
Question everything.

Jazz hands all the way!

Fitted fine just bloody steep getting in as I have to use a wide ramp I can walk along with it too short to step up with the usual bike ramps. No problem getting it all in big gazebo and I sleep in it on the topper that's supposed to go on the seats. Only reason it's going Rick is the Mrs wants a day van because the kids rarely camp with us now they are teenagers and she hates itLOL too old noisy and it's an auto so we are buying a pop top of some sort.

The trailer will be fully kitted out and I'll be able to leave most of my bits in it and just wheel in the bike and go. At the moment it's my daily so I'm forever putting the seats in and out which us a pain in the arse. That will be another thread altogether apologies for the high jack Embarrassed

I feel like I'm repeating myself here.........
As per my original post, sports bikes are a no no due to my advancing years, riding position, been there done that etc, so the RSV replacement has to be a roadster/naked, therefore a Fireblade is not an option. I certainly wouldn't be replacing my RSV with a Japanese UJM equivalent, I'd rather stick hot pokers in my eyes...and keep the RSV thank you very much !
I also don't need anything like the power of an RSV4... I don't do trackways, and the roads down here in Cornwall are murderous in the summer.......and boy it's been mental this summer. I have to fight my way through heavy clogged traffic for 100 miles to find decent empty(ish) A roads around Exeter/North Devon to really enjoy a ride.....it's about value for money for me, so around 100/120bhp is the sweet spot. I could buy a V4 but what's the point in that...it would be wasted. I took my wife's 600 hornet on one of my favourite roads down to St Mawes, I could wring its neck and theres my point.
You keep banging on about pizza delivery bikes, you're entitled to your opinion of course, and I respect that, but doesn't really contribute much to this thread now does it.
Now if I were to start a thread that asks "what's the best bike you've owned and why"....the floor would be yours sir Wink
Nuff said

[/QUOTE]

100 miles of clogged roads, it doesn't matter what bike you have 100 miles of clogged road cant be worth it - sounds like you need to book a white group down the brands Snatch, get away from all those clogged roads.
i suppose i do need to apologise for being very opinionated - i wouldn't have one on this subject but i know better and ridden a 765 - this is how i know its a piece of sh*t commuter.

nuff means enough right?

never owned one but the 2023 model is 210kg with 130rwhp so it doesn't sound great on paper but what do i know.

Servicing won’t cost me any labour as I’ll be doing my own belt changes, valve checks etc…… it’s a 2014 model with 7500 miles, first mod will be to replace that butt ugly swingarm number plate bracket with either the number plate bracket from an 821 or an Evotech tail tidy
It’s a milestone for me, always wanted a Ducati and after passing my test in 1985, this is my first one…..

it was total chaos, 2 pizza bikes came off first lap first corner first session, one guy had to get resuscitated on the track - they didn't really tell us much else but that was the last day of the season and im highly doubting il go back to the stone next year, it was handled really shoddily - on the 2nd day the white group missed an outing and the red group got looked after as they always do. they came over the speakers and actually said verbatim "can we all stop coming off our bikes please" apparently the worst it has been for crashes in recent memory.

your missing out big time its a realy good experience the premier GP circuit of the UK and the last one we have, just a bunch of part time car drivers pretending - but you are right about the cost its gotten bloody expensive car trackdays there end up into the 1000s if you need tyres etc.
