a few articles I read suggested that an investigation found it was a mechanical issue on the bike that damaged the tyre but it's all a bit vague as there was no confirmation either way from Michelin

That would tie in with the suggestion that they will re-introduce that soft tyre but I've read no more than that as I've been pretty much under the cosh the last few days.

Could that chain that's wrapped around the swing arm and not the rear sprocket be a contributing factor or the out come of the tyre ??
