    Posted: 03 Dec 2015 at 17:13
Hi all,

Am becoming obsessive about a set of large bore headers for my Gen 2 Tuono (to go with a 1060 big bore), the bike currently has Arrow cans fitted to std headers.  Arrow headers are available and seem pretty good value at £500 but there are no specs regarding performance, diameter etc only that they will fit the cans I have on.

Does anyone have an opinion on these headers or should I either a) spend double the money and unknown delivery time for a set of Smalmoto pipes (which may have clearance issues with the shock) or b) save my money as they won't do anything much over the OE headers for the big bore.

Regards

Fugly

contact garin he has them on a 1060 tuono

Or ask cheesy as he has some info as he just chased down a set to go with his freshly built ready to install gen2 1060 into a gen1 tuono.....apparently they make good midrange power

i've just got some shipped over from the states

if you search af1 theres always mixed opinions with systems but if i read it right its the design of the flare/flame pipe where the power is made from gabros research.

Arrows apparantly give a big whack in the mid rpm range & can be used with any cans designed for standard system

I'm now on the look out for a set of carbon arrows

1060 gen2 motor & some....

Arrow headers are still only 51mm butt have better flow than the std headers due to the better build quality and 1-1 pipe arrangement, akra Evo6 for better all round improvement and smaltmoto G4 for top end butt lack in midrange due to very large bore diameter 55-60mm
Don't think anyone has done back to back testing tho

Cheers guys for the replies.
B&C the UK Arrow importer says the full system (which mine would become as I have the Carbon cans) adds 8 bhp throughout the range so not insignificant.
I am more interested in mid range shove (hence the 1060 interest) so think I will order a set and Griff can fit them when the big bore is done and get the whole thing set up properly.
mmmm I think 2016 will be good.

Yep got a set on the Tuono which are paired to a set of Tigcraft end cans, it makes 142 bhp and 84 ft lb of torque how much is down to the headers is anyones guess to be honest, the one benefit of them is they are better quality than standard and stay clean and are easier to clean than the originals.

I have a full ceramic coated Smaltmoto system.
It was made to my spec. It does run close to the shock etc as its a 60mm bore. Had to cut the belly pan a bit (AP had to) as it is large but it doesn't notice. It did need a tap with a hammer to clear the shock as well on the rear header but you can't see it and Lewis was deadly accurate. A bugger to get on and off possibly but I believe that headers give good gains despite being an expensive way of getting more power. If you can get a secondhand set they are well worth it.
All the most powerful big bores are sporting full systems I believe.
You would not need to do the adjustments of course with say a full Evo 6 system but when the Smaltmoto one was a third of the price I wasn't complaining. Though Griff may of 😄
