hey guys,
as the proud new owner of an 01 falco i'm in need of a bit of assistance.......when the ignition is turned on the fuel warning light comes on briefly then goes out - as normal, but I'm not sure what level the warning light kicks in at. It got a bit spluttery mid corner then died on me briefly down hill then came alive on my way home. Obviously as a new owner I'm still learning the quirks, but when i got home a mile later it died on my driveway (again downhill) and wouldn't re-start. A quick look in the tank with a match (only kidding) revealed next to naff all in. What I'm trying to work out is if the warning light comes on at a ridiculously low level, if my sensor is a bit naff, and any way of rectifying the situation, other than a nose in the tank every time I go out. Any help appreciated. |

Does it only do it when the fuel light is on or with a full tank also?
How long had the bike been standing around before you purchased it? There is a thread on the RSV bit about water in the tank. Worth a read.......

Mine comes on very late, after about 140 - 160 miles - I usually just fuel up after a 100 - same as the 'sports bike' riders I'm usually out with ha ha!!
Ditto 'bout water in the tank though, everytime I washed the bike, when I next opened the tank cap it ran into the tank like a tap!

Mine did the same, water getting in the tank. Tis the drain bloked, it passes through an ally nipple screwed into the bottom of the tank and mine was all furred up. Remove it and drill it out, sorted.

best way is to fill to the brim and run it till it stops, carry some fuel (rucksack) after 120 miles. that way you will know exactly with the way you ride it.
