My local garden machine shop sells a product called Ethanol Shield which is supposed to stop ethanol-related damage. As well as using it in my mower, chainsaw etc, it also goes in my bikes if they aren't going to be used much.

I've not seen Ethanol Shield before, I usually use Stabil. Just checked, sounds interesting and worth a go but who knows with any of these additives I think it's more faith than evidence. I guess for one use over winter they are worth using, hence my use of Stabil.

I drained my tank for winter and put a gallon of storage petrol (99 Octane Ethanol free) into it. Pricey but allows me to ride it straight off without worry about E10 sat in the tank for months, or not. Ran it for a bit to ensure it got through the fuel system and injectors before laying the bike up. Less chance of anything gumming up as it's safe to use for any petrol engine stored for up to 12 months. I'll just run it on super unleaded from now on during the rest of the year.
