Can anybody help me before i go completely mad and sell my 03 Mille, my baby.[:(].
I finished a great ride yesterday, got off went for a cup of tea then about 30 mins later i tried but couldnt get her to start again, the neutral light came on but the LCD displays didnt come up. I tried turning it over but then the tacho meter did that reverse thing when the battery is tired. I left it a bit and then i discovered that if i raised the side stand sometimes the displays would come to life and it would start, then run for a minute or two then stop. I left it over night & charged the battery, tried it again this morning and had the same problem and flattened the battery again. I noticed that the side stand hinge is covered in gunk and sh*te so i am wondering if it could be in anyway connected to the problem. At the moment i have sprayed penetrating oil of the side stand hinge, cable connection and am searching for a Bosch YTX14 supplier. Anybody got any ideas.

sounds like the sidestand switch which is a common problem on the mille needs changing,as for the battery ebay shops look for onlineoffroad or just put in ytx-14bs and you should find his shop,26 or 28 quid delivered,i think quite a few of us have bought them from there, cheers Craig

quote:Cheers Gents, i kind of suspected it was because i was at Thruxton for BSB and it was real dusty. I had spray lubed my chain before i went. The penetrating oil hasnt worked so i will try the link and see about a new switch and battery. |
