Having recently purchased my first Aprilia, an RSV Factory.. I felt there was still room in my garage for a 3rd bike Big smile It’s a 2004 ZX12R with 4800 miles/FSH.. It has a full titanium Akrapovic fitted plus the oe system. The bike was part of a guys 20+ collection that he was thinning down.. Smile
I have yet to ride it as it was only delivered Saturday, and I’m waiting until April when hopefully the weather will be better.

Always liked the 12’s, one of the nicest tail units, I like the simplicity of the air intake as well and that green 👍

Me too.. it’s such a basic old school big engined bike.. and being a Kawasaki has that induction noise and decent front end. Smile Spent the afternoon polishing it.. pleasure, and fitting a battery trickle charger cable.. not pleasure! Never known such a stupid design.. you have to take half the bike apart just to gain access to the battery..Unhappy

Isn’t it down on the right side buried in the frame, I remember my mate raging about his after he’d been used to his zx9r.

Exactly right.. it’s buried inside the monocoque frame.. to get at it you need to remove the seats, the plastic fuel tank cover, ideally the right side fairing panel.. then you can access the metal door that has around 7 hex bolts.. then you have to unclip various looms that are in the way.. & then it has a rubber securing band and a plastic retaining cover that goes over the top of the battery.. then....you should be able to slide it out of the hole it’s buried in!! To say it’s a ridiculous way to access a battery is an understatement......Ermm
Took me around 45 minutes of swearing as it’s so fiddly.. but it was a temporary blip in the joy of getting the bike Approve

My mate was really impressed with the location on his, he reckoned it was a pain to get to the plugs etc as the frame forms the lower part of the airbox.

Remember when it was launched and Bike magazine said it was very probably one of their bikes of the year. Always loved Kwaks, had a 9r when they were second fiddle to Blades, Gixers and R1s but plenty fast, very comfortable and an air induction soundtrack that was addictive.

Had a few ZXR750s back in the day and loved them.. so I’m sure the ZX12R will do the same. Owned more Kawasaki’s than anything else
