Keeping it simple. Interested to see what effect they have. [/QUOTE] Interested here also..I have 57mm's on an 01 RSVR with other mods....currently pushing >121 at the rear wheel at perhaps less then optimum set up ( no body work, so ram air was non existent. But isnt it always on a Dynodesk, I mean really ?) Thing is. I never ran a before and after... I hoped to have gained significantly midrange output ...IIRC- Mark ( formerly XSPerfomance Solutionz ?) directed me to the shorter stacks with these TB's to consolidate the anticipated "midrange" gains. Dual stacks seem like a sweet plan but what effect do they really deliver ? Re the cams and overlap...110/110. Having read carefully the threads linked above, I know some have posted this has disastrous results whilst others seem to be seeing very positive results ? ( ie-110/110 is sweet & most accommodating re: set up. Its quite a ball ache dialling the cams in . Well, for a relative newbie to spannering, it would seem dropping the lump makes it considerably easier. What Im saying is...to do this. you wanna know where you want the set up to be for best results ! Jeez..I dunno. There even seems some disagreement as to whether the factory set up is poor or not.. ? Peace !

Shorter stacks......normally tuono longer stacks help bring in the midrange a little lower in the midrange...

The one thing we never really got to sort out was running different stack heights, tall on the back and short on the front. I am pretty sure we came to the conclusion that they would work but only with seperate maps for the front and rear cylinders (works on V8's , V6's etc so the theory is sound).
You wouldn't pick up any more power in hp but you could spread the torque over a wider rpm range. Re cams yes a ball ache but well worth it imho, 110/110 Is too aggressive , well okay not totally true but you would need to make some very careful measurements first (I read on AF that one guy got 110/110 on one cylinder and couldn't get better than 106/107 on the other such were the machining discrepancies.

I dont suppose you know what length the stacks are for the 57mm TB's...? I dont have a workshop manual for the engine year I own. I wanted to look up the factory "stated" cam timing numbers for an 01 RSV-R (when I looked at the number stamped into the head, the indication was the valves were 38-31, making it an evolution of the GEN 1 ?) Grtzz.... |
