Hi All
Have just sold an 03 Tuono and the customer wants the standard can and chip fitted, but we are having a problem starting it once we change the chip over. EFI comes up on the dash and the engine just turns over, but as soon as we put the race chip back in it starts fine. We have also reconnected a blue and green wire, but it won't run with or without it.
Thanks in advance.
Chris

Assuming the original chip went in the right way round then it's fried.
They are static sensitive so should be stored safely.
Leave the wire cut. that restricts, de restricts the ecu map. Cut is unrestricted.

Many thanks, that makes sense and I'll have to sell with the standard can and race chip. Do you think that will be fine?
Cheers

I would think so.
I sold one of my Rsv's with an arrow race chip but standard can and it ran fine. Might vary between chips but if anything it will run a little rich which is better than the other way round.

Hi
Mate, check that the chip your removing is not a piggy back chip?
I had an Aprilia RSV Titanium piggy back chip. If you dont take the base off too then you will get the EFI light and the turning over but not firing symptoms.
If you have not then it could well be fried. Should never touch them with fingers due to the oil and grease on them (just the same as a light bulb) so always wear a latex or vinyl glove.
