IMO the best cheaper pads would be sbs street-HH spec. The double carbons are wicked for track abuse better than ebc HH which are not as good as OE brembos (HH)and not used race sintered yet n probably won't the DC's are that good.

No they are not!! I got some to look at as they were so cheap... They went straight in the bin and got some EBC. Its brakes! Fit the best you can get! I did hear some tales of the pads coming off the metal backing! Now I don't know if they were rip off copies that I got, but trust me they were utter sh*te!!
Question everything.

Only going on the commuter so just viewed them as an option which is why I asked. Think I will get another set of the EBC HH as I've used them before with fair results. Cheers for the input guys.

Goldfren are utter sh*te, I fitted a set to a tmax I was selling but replaced them as I thought their stopping power was on par with a lump of wood.

I'd recommend Bendix or EBC.

Over on the ZRX forum there is a discussion on these Goldfren pads and most people agree that they are sh*t. One lad has asked this though...
"Just one thing to be sure..............those that have had bad experience with these, are they the S33 Racing with the friction material being Ceramic Carbon mix ?

I ask this because THIS is the type I am referring to. "

Was it standard pads you lot were using or has anybody tried the ones he's referring to?

Good point Adzed and I'm afraid I cannot remember! However, from what I saw of them before binning in disgust, put me off for life! (that's what it would cost, if one were to use them!) The braking compound on them, whatever it was - probably dried processed cheese/balsa wood mix - looked like it would have all the stopping power of a junkie on giro day! It was much softer than on the Brembo pads that I had just removed and looked of extremely poor quality. Cheap brakes - not going to end well! I went EBC last time and have always had confidence in them. Thumbs Up

Edit to add: Thinking about it now, I may still have the receipt/delivery note in the shed, or in my bike folder. I'll have a quick look if I'm well enough 2moro. Was a few years back now though.

Question everything.
