steve first check blue wire from ecu has been cut to release second map ask redrat if he has a modded collector open the air box up using one of eds (forza)kits and a decent end can and one of eds chips to suit these mods and then take your bike to aprillia performance and get the lads there to set the tb & co set up and you will need a good battery in these along with a 150 amp solernoid 16-44 chain & sprocket
hope this helps simon

Only get it set up if you have a pc otherwise you will have to do it in future.
Other wise the chip should be fine just to stick it and go

When you say major maintenance mods, I guess you are talking about safety and reliability rather than performance initially?
If so then as already mentioned, the rear shock linkage has to be the first thing to check as many do not get maintained, seize up and potentially damage you and the bike if they lock up while riding. So strip and clean all the bearings and replace if necessary. Then for reliable starting and to protect the sprag clutch, you really need the uprated 150A starter solenoid which are vailable form Aprilia Performance, see top of page. Don't get a cheapie form ebay or you will just end up replacing it again. Add to that a reaaly good high CCA battery and the upgraded starter cable set as made by Johnboy (One of the forums members) which greatly enhance the current flow through the starter circuit. If you compare the starting before and after these mods, the difference is amazing. After that, performance mods and bling are many which you will often find mentioned in the forum and touched on above. If you do go the enhanced airflow route, make sure you get the bigger unrestricted airboot for the bottom of the airbox from the very early Gen 1's. For bling, if you don't have an 'R' model, then carbon front mudguard, rear hugger, fairing infills and clocks cover are a start. |
