Hello to you all.

After more years than I care to admit I have finally seen the light, retired my old ZX-7R and have jumped head-first into RSV owner ship.

I am now the proud owner of a 2005 RSVR1000R which has the benefits of low mileage, twin Akras and a PClll USB.

I have already benefitted from the information hereabouts - and from the AP you tube videos - brown connectors deleted, clutch slave cylinder seals replaced and am about to do the clutch jet 40 mod. So thanks.

I do have some minor irritations that I may need help with but there’s always another day.
Years of the big K then an Ape - one with twin Akras, AP air box mod, twin NRVs, 42t rear sprocket, great big 12V cables, 200A solenoid, 40A MOSFET r/r + headlight switch + stator cooling + PCIII map.

Welcome, it seems many on here, as I did, had a ZX-7R before going the RSV route.

It looks like you have been doing some research. More to follow for you no doubt on suggestions for the most important mods.

If you have questions just ask away, although the forum isn't as busy as it once was it remains the best source of non-opinionated (Usually!) advice for these bikes.

Hiya mate,
Bit of a new boy myself, followed a couple of other forums for a while and this one is by far the best, extremely knowledgeable and friendly lads on here and you very quickly find answers to anything you need to know about your bike.
Thumbs Up

Thanks for the welcome Legend88, Jimmyv4 & Stitchmillie.

Re: the ZX-7R - had it for in excess of 10 years….can’t get over how slim, light & a damned-site more ‘chuckable’ the Ape’ is in comparison. Chose the RSV instead of the Tuono, KTM & Trumpet that I test rode around the same time too - was trying to wean myself off sports bikes - didn’t work.

Re: questions…plucking up courage whilst searching to avoid embarrassment…

Re: forum - I too chose this site for its knowledge based on a lot of experience

Constant, Badapple, Wigginsjp & Snowman:
Thanks too for the warm welcome - ‘tis really nice to get such a friendly response - I especially like the ‘7R comment…..took me 31 years to get one….thoroughly enjoyed it but got a bit disenchanted with the lack of good spares available now + it was getting too heavy for these old bones. Used to eat tyres too. Sometimes in as little as 1600 miles - oops!

Welcome, you've picked the right forum.
You'll find owners with decades of accumulated ownership here.
What they don't know about Aprilias isn't worth knowing.
People say I don't know Jack Sh1t; but I do, he lives next door.

Thanks.
I have to say I was impressed with the information available and how readily it was made available.

Am carrying out the clutch jet mod over the weekend and look forward to finding neutral - that should be a novelty.
