what are doing to stop it happening again i know people that have done it 4-5 times on a gen2

are you buying the lower wattage conversion kit or exchanging the flywheel for a demagnetised version ???

I used Dominik's service a couple of years ago, good quick turnaround and I got him to supply the puller and crank locking bolts at the same time. That way I knew they correct spec and grade, very inexpensive too.
Subsequently sold the bike and tools otherwise I would have let you have them.

Thanks Steve i did see that but wasnt sure on the quality at that price.
Real shame i  only had a couple of rides before it failed luckily I was close to home. Id noticed it really popping on closed throttle and low volts do I knew it was coming.

Kicked me into gear to start the recommision so shes currently stripped down. Bodywork and tank off for paint etc.

Nice to know Mikey thanks, so you got the kig then sent yours in exchange? Did you use his stator or rewind the OEM part?

No problem buddy...thought I'd have a quick scout around!
Unlucky about the stator...is there no way of prevention with these?
Be good to see the bike once its back together in its full glory 👍🏻

Yeah waa on the list anyway so im not bothered mate. There is a fix which is the plan. The flywheel can be derated to 370W and that should be that.

Like i said when i bought it i planned on making it a minter to keep with all the known niggles sorted . Looking forward to the end result!

I actually picked up a second hand flywheel and sent that off, Dominik had it back to me with the bolts about 6 days later. Did the swap and sold my original flywheel and bolts to a guy who was going to do the same.
My current rec/reg and stator were ok (had already replaced at 19K miles) but I believe Dominik can supply a new stator if needed, don't think it's an Aprilia OEM one however that may not matter if the flywheel isn't going to create too much wattage any longer, Dom can explain that I'm sure.

Ah right, ive spoken to him and im going to send out mine an the one in my spare engine makes sense as the spares sprag is knackered so i have to removd it to replace the gears . Not sure if im going to get the stators re wound or buy from him yet need to speak to west country windings and see whats what. Dom seems a good bloke.
