Unlike most I've only just ventured out on a bike for the first ride of the year today and several thoughts occurred to me:

Firstly ,living where I do (N Wales) just about all our 30 Mph zones are now 20's and even with shorter gearing on the Tuono it's a king size PITA to keep within the new limit especially when going down a hill.  Like first gear and constant dabbing the brakes Angry   These are just the sort of places where a camera van is likely to be lurking so it's pretty stressful, especially if you just revert to old habits on familiar roads.

It's bad in a car but lots worse on the bike.

And secondly I've just changed my front brake master cylinder from the oem axial perch to a decent new radial unit and I'm blown away by the difference in feel / modulation whatever you want to call it.

I had no issues at all with the performance of the axial unit,it worked better than I'd visualize needing but as I'd swapped the old oem axial clutch master over to a new radial Corsa Corta unit I thought I'd tidy up by having a matching brake unit.

Although the clutch action is nothing short of amazing now,a true one finger action with superb feel and control,I didn't really expect much from the brake side swap tbh. as I was happy enough before, but for anyone wondering about upgrading I can really recommend it.

Until you've tried the difference back to back you really have no idea, I know it can't make your brakes more effective overall but the difference in the feel/action/immediacy/control is in a different time zone.

It also brings the looks of the old girl a bit more up to date which is a bonus Big smile

The first thing that actually came to mind today though was to wonder yet again how it is that leathers shrink so much year by year Embarrassed

I knew I'd put on a bit of weight but I used have a fair bit of comfort space in my track suit, not anymore, now it's 'breath in and zip quickly'

Gonna have to exercise more and cut down on eating methinks

The radial clutch was the best accidental mod I’d found on my rsv, I’d got mine spare and when I fitted it it didn’t seem much different to the billet brembo I’d taken off, I then adjusted it and bloody hell a lighter clutch, mine was always really heavy as it has heavier springs for all the engine mods and it gives the clutch a hard time, the clutch has been modded now to take an extra friction and steel.
