Just bought a Tuono V4 2012 after stopping on the way home it wouldn't start for half an hour !! Anyone else been through this on here ? I've been Halfords and got a better earth strap that I'll put soon after reading some Forums. It just seems like the battery is flat but I knew it wasn't as it fired up first time at the guys house. Also don't seem to have any backlight on multi display rev counter is fine though ? Any help appreciated.

The V4 - not all strangely, have a tendency to nip or tighten up when hot. The starter motor physically can't then pull enough power from the battery to start it up.
Half an hour later, and its cooled down a bit, off you go!

A lot of the Lads on FB have had success after we developed an upgraded cable kit to allow all of the battery's power to get to the starter motor. So I make them for the lads on there if you ask on the Aprilia Performance page.
Griff has the kits in stock, and can fit them for you, or I can make you a kit if you're interested.

The standard cables in the starting circuit are only 10mm2, so physically can't carry the power required. I use 16mm2, which will carry 220+ Amps.

The other thing that might help is coolant....if you are running 50/50 water antifreeze the bike will run significantly hotter !

Who needs minus 40 degree centigrade protection ?

In th summer when my bike is used I use something like water wetter INSTEAD of antifreeze because it makes the bike run 15 degrees centigrade cooler ! When the bike is parked all the heat can then 'lock' the engine, if it runs cooler it might park cooler ?

https://www.redlineoil.com/product.aspx?pid=74&pcid=10

It's sold in the UK (even halfrauds sell it) and worked very well with race bikes back in the day.

Perhaps with your better cables and letting the bike run cooler you can avoid the embarrassment of the bike not starting !

Got a picture ? I really like the v4 but can't afford one....

Wow! That's really good information and has got to be worth a try.
I believe a lot of the older classic bikes and cars use this for that exact reason.

I too can vouch for the cable upgrade kit.

Mine bike spins up like a whirlpool 1400 washer hot or cold 😂
Age is just a number.
