front sprocket

   I'm just about to replace the standard one with a 16 tooth one, and a thought came to me as I was about to swing on the old socket-- IS IT A REVERSIBLE THREAD? by that I mean does it loosen clockwise rather than the anti clockwise direction as most bolts do, as the sprocket turns anti clockwise as well.[?][?][?]
I can't find any mention of this in the on line workshop manual. Help please amigos.[?]
