Went to start bike today , it fired, cut out and just cranked but no start and couldn’t hear fuel pump run, so off with seat and checked fuses all ok , So then while I was there pulled apart 2 connector blocks by fuse box and put back together, key on fuel pump primed and bang away she went. Couldn’t see any corrosion or dirty connection’s but I do know it doesn’t take a lot to stop 12v things working, tock bike for its weekly ride and all ok. So it was either the fuses or the connector blocks , haven’t looked at wiring diagram to see what does what yet either.

Maybe the connector blocks had vibrated loose slightly, hopefully you've solved it. Whenever I have connections apart I always clean them with a bit of contact cleaner followed by a small coating dielectric grease like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255780824510 EDIT: To clarify, I put the dielectric grease around the plug joint (Not the terminals themselves as dielectric grease is not conductive) to improve the connector performance and help prevent water ingress. If you want to help the electrical connection and prevent corrosion of the terminals themselves, use something like this: https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/greases/0503335?gb=s |
