Hi guys ,I've got the original 190/50 pirelli on my bike and it'll need replacing. The clearance with the chain is minimal.
I'm wondering if anyone has tried s22 or pilot power 190/55 ? Any tyre that does not work ? So I can rule it out. Thanks

Pretty sure most people have moved to the 55 profile I ran it on my Gen2

I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left

I am running 190/60 Supercorsa, but i had to get longer chain, because the clearance to the front of the swingarm was not enough....just keep it in mind. My bike has 520 chain, and there is no issue with chain clearance....not sure for 525 Will also need to place a couple of spacers under the rear fender, to get it away from rubbing the tyre. |

I ran a 190/55 and a 190/60 on a gen 1 and 2 race bike. Both 525 chains, but both were lengthened to accommodate the 60 profile.
Pirelli Super Corsa and rain tyres. Admittedly both race bikes so no rear huggers but swingarm clearance was fine. Slightly larger clearance on the gen1 as it goes. If you wish to retain a hugger you will need to add some spacers to raise it clear of a 60 profile most likely. As for road bikes ran Michelin pilot powers 190/55 and no issues as standard

I run S22's on my Gen1 but 180/55's as per original spec. Purely road use so you don't need the extra contact patch of the 190 and better to have the improved steering response from the slightly narrower tyre.

Thanks fir the input guys. Pilot powers 190/55 are reasonably priced and are still a pretty decent road tyre I'm sure.
