Thinking of fitting a quickshifter to my Gen 2 Factory…..any advice please, which brand is best etc - it’s purely for road use.

Hi Andy
Hope you are well

I love them! Dynojet Quickshifters we’re always my go to. Mainly because of the Power Commanders as there are some great alternative options.

Very simple install and Dynojet now make a one that you just programme to be push or pull depending the shift pattern you prefer. Off the top of my head I can’t recall the ‘kill’ time best suited to the V twin, so give Griff a call to check, which is what I did last time.
I’d recommend GP shift personally and it works great on these engines. I believe your rear sets have the stepped arm in the gear selector? If so then you won’t get any fouling in the body panels.

I know Gabro developed/converted a shifter of some description to give his Gen2 an auto blipper which again imo is epic and certainly if it didn’t conflict with the racing regs, I’d definitely do it to the Gen2 race bike.

HM , Healtech, Bazzaz full set ups get good reviews. The latter can give you traction control also, not that it’s a mega requirement.
Equally all have horror stories attached but they are a necessity for me and I’d fit one to any bike I owned no hesitation.

I love quick shifters, I’ve got five of them, I’ve had translogic in the past but that was the early switch type, all of them now are cordona pq8’s, I think the kill time on mine is 60ms.

Morning gents,
Im good thanks James, well apart from day 6 of Covid....managed to dodge it for two years, then out for a meal with friends and boom, we all came down with it except for the wife bless her !!
The Healtech offering looks adequate for me, good price, and does what its supposed to. I'm not planning on a Power Commander so I guess that rules out the Dynojet.

Oh wow

I finally caught it too a few weeks back. I thought I had Hayfever and tested. Had it for five days. Zoe never got it either.

If you follow that link there is also a ‘stand alone’ variant but if the Healtech offering has all your need covered then no issue but least you can compare prices.

Incidentally. An ACU licence gives a healthy discount on Dynojet stuff if you renew your membership of the members club online. I can’t recall what the discount is but it’s hefty 25-35% discount depending on product. I think my shifter was £170 delivered or similar. I need to renew mine and forgot this year as they normally send a reminder but I’m sure you may know a racer or two.
